Shoe and Sole Thickness
In this section we cover the important thicknesses and certain tolerance limits for Zellerfeld shoes.
SHOE THICKNESS
Check the shoe thickness around the last, to ensure there are no weak points on the shoe construction. The minimum thickness was updated between 7 mm (heel) to 5 mm (forefoot).
To measure if your shoe matches the minimum thickness use the new template files (reference_thickness.stl). the exterior of the shoe (not including collar surfaces) should not intersect the reference volume.
Small region tolerance: We ignore collar surface regions and smaller regions of the upper with less than 10mm.
SOLE THICKNESS
The shoe exterior must not intersect the 3D region below the last that represents the minimum sole thickness.
Please download the sole thickness reference files from our Zellerfeld Template files!
When Rejected:
Adjust the exterior surfaces to not intersect the 3D region.
SOLE THICKNESS - FLIPFLOP
The region around the “knob” (loose part on the outsole) should have a minimum sole thickness of 5 mm.
Knob design tips:
- The gap between the tongue and sole of the shoe should be a minimum of 1.0 mm.
- Follow the outsole profile to not compromise the walking.
