Mesh Analysis in Blender
Using the Mesh Analysis tool that lives natively inside of Blender can be extremely useful when checking your design for Overhangs, Thickness, Intersections, and more PRIOR to submitting the files thru our Autocheck.
Here is how to use it:
1) Open Blender
2) Open your project or import your geometry into the workspace
3) Rotate your design 120 degrees such that is it is oriented like the example below:
Please note that the toe of your shoe design file should be pointed upward, and the opening of the shoe facing downward.
This orientation is how your shoe will be printed if it uses our Sneaker, Boot, or Barefoot lasts.
For Slides and Flip-Flops: the design is rotated 100 degrees but in the same final orientation.

8) You will notice a myriad of colors now present on your model. These colors illustrate a spectrum of Overhang severity that you have present on your model. Red meaning more severe, dark blue/violet meaning less severe.
Overhangs over 45 degrees are the default Mesh Analysis preset, however, you have the option to select different analysis presets from the dropdown within the window:
