Fit
This check verifies that the interior of your shoe fits correctly around the last.
This check replaces the previous Last Intersection and Shoe Side checks and combines their intent into a single, more precise measurement.
The interior must follow the last surface closely: not so tight that it cuts into it, and not so loose that it leaves excessive gaps. The allowed tolerances are:
- The shoe interior must not penetrate more than 0.5 mm into the last surface.
- The shoe interior must not sit more than 0.5 mm away from the last surface.
If this check fails, the shoe interior does not conform to the last within these tolerances. This typically means the geometry needs to be adjusted before the shoe can be manufactured correctly.
3D Feedback Files
When a problem is detected, we isolate the exact regions that are out of tolerance and attach them as 3D files:
- Region intersecting last — highlights the areas of the shoe interior that are cutting more than 0.5 mm into the last. These regions are sitting inside the last surface where they should not be.
- Region too far from last — highlights the areas of the shoe interior that are sitting more than 1.0 mm away from the last surface, creating gaps that are larger than allowed.
